Houston High School head girls basketball coach Micah Lee has resigned from leading the program.
Lee, who submitted her resignation at Tuesday’s monthly board meeting, will finish the current season then step down for family reasons, she said.
“Coaching high school basketball will be a memory that I cherish forever,” said Lee, who took over the team in 2023. “However, I have always been a mother first, and my children and their goals will always be my priority. As much as I would like to continue doing both, my time and commitment has to be to my family.”
Following Friday’s loss at Bakersfield, the Lady Tigers have 8 regular-season games and a tournament remaining before postseason play. The final game will conclude Lee’s three-year run leading the team.
“I want my girls to know that the relationships I’ve built with them mean everything to me,” Lee said “and I will continue to be there for them in every part of their lives.”
