Karen Kay (Allen) Moore, daughter of Gary and Sherry Allen was born on Aug. 12, 1978, in Springfield, Missouri. She went to be with the Lord on Jan. 22, 2026, at the age of 47.
Karen was raised on the family farm in Bado, Missouri. She attended elementary school at Raymondville and graduated from Houston High School in 1996.
Karen married “the neighbor boy,” Billy Moore, on Sept. 7, 1996. The love she had for Bill was constant and enduring. She leaned on him in times of need and celebrated beside him in times of blessing. Their marriage was built on love and mutual devotion. “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” (1 Corinthians 13:7) They had two children, Kyle Dean and Bailey Marie. Karen and Bill raised Kyle and Bailey in a memory-filled home full of love, laughter, family and friends. They enjoyed riding horses, taking horse-drawn wagon rides, family vacations to the mountains and lake trips.
Karen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was watching her kids grow up and start their own families. She enjoyed spoiling her grandbabies, spending time with family and making the best chocolate chip cookies.
Karen grew up attending Bado Community Church and was saved at an early age during Vacation Bible School. She was currently a member of Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was dedicated to children’s ministry, serving as a Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School director. Karen had a deep love for children and believed strongly in the importance of children’s ministry through organizing VBS, Christmas programs and various activities to bring families to church. She found great joy in nurturing young hearts in faith. Her devotion to teaching children about God’s love and her ministry impacted many people.
Karen loved deeply! She loved the Lord. She loved Bill. She loved her family. She loved her church family. She loved everyone she came in contact with. Her smile and encouraging words drew everyone she met to her, and she had a genuine concern for others. God’s love was shown through her, and she loved to talk about Jesus with everyone. She will be truly missed by her family, friends and everyone who knew her.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Bill, and their children, Kyle and Sarah Moore, Bailey and Chris Cichon; grandchildren, Tripp Jay and Willard Dean Moore, Heidi Louise Cichon; her parents, Gary and Sherry Allen, Lynn and Wanda Moore; brother, Jeff and Julie Allen; sisters-in-law, Janet Moore and Shelly and Mike Mutzebaugh; nephews and nieces, Brandon Sigman, Trevor and Sydney Sigman (Tucker, Selah and Blaire), Cody and Emma Allen, Jake Allen and Jessyn Allen.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and May Allen, Ralph and Betty Tennison, and an uncle, Jay Tennison.
