Residents of Texas County are invited to participate in Texas County Day at the Capitol in Jefferson City on Tuesday, March 3.
The event provides an opportunity for local citizens, community leaders, students and organizations to engage directly with state government while highlighting the people and priorities of Texas County.
Texas County Day at the Capitol is hosted by State Sen. Brad Hudson and State Rep. Bennie Cook. Participants will have the opportunity to tour the Missouri State Capitol, observe the legislative process and meet with elected officials to discuss issues important to their community. Lunch will be provided for attendees.
“Texas County is made up of hardworking families, strong schools, small businesses and dedicated community leaders,” Cook said. “Texas County Day at the Capitol is about giving our citizens a seat at the table, highlighting what makes our county special and continuing the work of delivering real results for the people we serve.”
The event is designed to encourage civic engagement and give participants firsthand insight into how state government works, while strengthening the connection between Texas County and its state representatives.
Additional details regarding schedules and participation will be shared closer to the event date.
