The U.S. Army is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft of an explosive device from Fort Leonard Wood.
According to the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID), a demolition-shaped charge was stolen from the post’s Ammunition Supply Point. The device, identified as Department of Defense Identification Code M421, Lot No. ITH85F001-004, was last accounted for on Nov. 7, 2025.
The M421 is described by the Department of Army CID as a charge used primarily by the military for boring holes in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and paved or unpaved roads.

Officials say the amount of any reward paid will be determined by the quality of information provided and may be adjusted in cases involving multiple claimants or other factors.
Officials from Fort Leonard Wood are not commenting on the investigation, as it is still ongoing.
