- On Feb. 5, a deputy responded to a call from a woman who owns a fence business in Aurora who said a 26-year-old area man had made a large purchase using checks that subsequently bounced.
The officer spoke to the man who owns the Waters Road residence in Cabool where the suspect lives and he said the equipment was in a shop building on the property and he gave permission to the deputy to retrieve it.
On Feb. 6, the officer went to the residence and recovered the items.

- On Jan. 29, a deputy patrolling Route 181 in Cabool observed a man in a white Ford pickup trying to flag him down.
The officer made contact with the man, and he reported seeing a gray truck in a ditch on eastbound U.S. 60, west of Route 181. The deputy located the truck and made contact with the 24-year-old Mountain Grove man who was the driver.
The officer observed that the man had difficulty keeping his balance and was unable to speak clearly. Due to his condition and the cold weather, the man was detained and placed in the deputy’s patrol vehicle.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper arrived at the scene, and investigation was turned over to him.
- On Jan. 18, a deputy was dispatched regarding a report of damage to a gas pump at a gas station in the Summersville area.
The officer made contact with the 46-year-old man who owns the business and he said that on Dec. 23, a 42-year-old Summersville man had caused damage to a pump and had stated he would provide insurance information.
The owner said the pump was repaired at a cost of $3,000, but the suspect hadn’t provided any information.
The officer spoke with two men who reportedly witnessed the incident, and they indicated the suspect had driven off with the gas nozzle still in his vehicle.
