When Michele was referred to Sherry Phippen, MD, general surgeon in the TCMH outpatient surgery department, after weeks of discomfort and uncertainty, she wasn’t sure what to expect, but she knew immediately she was in the right place.

“From the very first visit, I knew I was in good hands with Dr. Phippen,” Michele shared. Michele says what stood out most was Dr. Phippen’s approach to care.

“She doesn’t just throw pills at a problem. She takes the time to figure out the root cause,” Michele explained. “She listens, she explains things in a way you can understand, and she never talks over you.”

After a severe illness caused unexpected complications, Michele was in significant pain and struggling to find relief. Dr. Phippen provided a clear plan, practical guidance and reassurance, and the results were almost immediate.

“By that night, I already felt better,” Michele said. “Everything she told me to do worked. It was honestly amazing.” Michele also praised the entire care team.

“Her nurses are wonderful, too. I don’t have a single complaint about anyone in that office,” she said. “I’ve already recommended Dr. Phippen to at least three people, and I won’t stop talking about her.”

Now awaiting final clearance for a follow-up procedure, Michele says she feels confident knowing Dr. Phippen will handle everything in one comprehensive approach when the time comes.

“For a small town, we are incredibly fortunate to have doctors like Dr. Phippen,” Michele said. “She truly cares and you can feel that.”
