A Willow Springs woman was seriously injured Sunday afternoon in an accident about 10 miles east of Cabool on Highway U.

Cpl. Stacey Crewse said a westbound 2006 Ford F-150 driven by a 61-year-old Willow Springs man ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, went off the left side of the highway, struck a fence and a tree.

A passenger, a 55-year-old Willow Springs woman, had serious injuries and was transported to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.

Neither was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said. The vehicle had extensive damage. Assisting was the Cabool Fire Department.
