A Licking police officer uncovered a burglary in progress Monday at a business there.

Louis C. Gregory, born in 1962 and a resident of Kelsey Street in Licking, is charged with stealing more than $750, a class D felony; and first-degree trespassing, a misdemeanor, after he was found on Current River Pole Mill property on Staples Lane as part of a routine security check.

The items found were worth $5,507.

Gregory’s bond is set at $25,000 cash or surety.
