Members and guests of the Cabool Art Club enjoyed one of their most anticipated monthly meetings featuring the annual High School Musicians Concert held March 17 at the Cabool Christian Church.

Under the direction of Choir Director Wendy Inman and Band Director Katie Presser, the young artists entertained both as soloists and in ensembles in a program including vocals, piano and wind instruments. The Art Club members and guests were especially impressed by the variety and excellence of the students’ performance and were appreciative of the hard work by the choir and band teachers for such an enjoyable program.

Following the concert, Club President Shelley Travis called the business meeting to order and thanked hostesses Marie Beller, Kathy Anderson and Carol Pettijohn for the St Patrick’s Day decorations. Committee reports were given and plans were finalized for attending the upcoming Southwest Missouri Museum Associates (SMMA) annual Honors and Extension Luncheon at Twin Oaks Country Club in late March.

A decision was made to stay in the SMMA network affiliation. Club business included a discussion on changing the meeting day. It was decided to keep the current day at this time.

The Cabool Art Club is continuing to celebrate America’s 250th birthday and make a difference in the community. Everyone is invited to visit the Art Club Scholarship fundraising booth at the Cranberry Merchant at 510 Main St. in Cabool, Tuesday through Saturday.

The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 14 at the Cabool History Museum. All women are welcome to join this organization to promote the fine arts.
