An inmate at the South Central Correctional Center is charged with possessing a weapon, authorities said.

Jose A. Lugos-Campos Jr., born in 1988, is charged with delivery or possession of a weapon at a prison, a class B felony. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

On April 8, 2025, a scanner detected Lugos-Campos was allegedly possessing a weapon made from metal that had a sharpened point. It had a rag attached as a handle.

The report was filed on Feb. 24. Charges were filed on March 24.
