An inmate at a state prison at Licking is charged with allegedly possessing a weapon after it was found in a pouch of his colostomy bag, authorities said.

Demetrus D. Gillom, born in 2002, was found Jan. 21 with prison-made weapon that was 5 inches long, made of a flat piece of metal that was sharpened at one end and had a handle fashioned from cloth on the opposite end.

Witnesses said a cellmate, Joseph A. Grenz, born in 1998, claimed ownership of the weapon, according to a report. He also is charged with possession of a weapon, a class B felony.

Charges were filed March 12.
