A South Central Correctional Center inmate in Licking faces a felony charge following a Sept. 15, 2025 incident, according to court documents.

Lionel L. Bolton, 27, is charged with violence to an employee of the department of corrections or to an inmate by an inmate, a class B felony.

According to a probable cause statement, Bolton was found by a corrections officer unresponsive in a cell at about 7:33 p.m. on Sept. 15, 2025.

Bolton received immediate medical treatment, but when the officer attempted to escort him to a medical facility for additional treatment, he became noncompliant.

During the struggle, in which Bolton was taken to the ground, an officer was bit on the wrist. As he continued to struggle, another officer shocked him with a G.L.O.V.E. (Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter) device, after which he became compliant.

The Texas County prosecutor requested a $10,000 cash bond for Bolton, who is held on murder and armed criminal action convictions. The charges were filed Feb. 26.
