Incidents in January and November 2025 have led to two felony charges against a South Central Correctional Center inmate in Licking.
Jamal Rogers, 28, is charged with two counts of delivery or possession of a weapon at a county/private jail/correctional center, class B felonies.
On Jan. 20, 2025, during a security check of a housing unit at the Licking prison, a prison-made weapon was found within the front pocket of Rogers’ jacket, according to court documents. The weapon was about 6 inches long and fashioned like a knife.
On Nov. 11, 2025, during a strip search of Rogers, officers found a prison-made weapon concealed within a brace on his right wrist. The weapon was just under 6 inches long and fashioned like a knife.
The Texas County prosecutor requested a $6,000 cash bond in each case for Rogers, who is held on unlawful use of a weapon convictions. The charges were filed Feb. 26.
