One person is charged following an alleged assault Friday at Austin Lake, authorities said.

Chase Moore, born in 2003, is charged with third-degree domestic assault, a class E felony. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. No address is listed for Moore.

The Texas County Sheriff’s Department responded to the recreational area and stopped a vehicle traveling on Greenwood Road. A woman was behind the wheel; Moore was a passenger. The deputy said he observed the woman with a bloody nose that was actively bleeding.

The incident, according to a report, was apparently sparked by content on a cell phone.

The woman said she had fallen; Moore denied striking her. A witness observed the struggle over the device.

The deputy said Moore is on probation for a domestic violence conviction. Records also showed he was sought on a non-extraditable warrant for failure to appear on an assault charge.
