Houston basketball players Gracyn McNiell and D.J. Riley were announced Monday as members of the All-District team in Class 3 District 9.
McNiell, who was also a first team All-SCA selection, averaged a double-double of 17.1 points and 10.0 rebounds her senior campaign. She also led the Lady Tigers with 3.0 steals per game and 6 charges.
Riley, who eclipsed 1,000 career points his senior season and ranks third all-time on the program’s scoring list, led the Tigers in scoring (16.1), assists (4.2) and steals (3.8). He was also an honorable mention All-SCA pick.
Willow Springs swept player of the year honors with Chloe Jones and Kolby James receiving the honors. Denny Young of Thayer was the girls coach of the year while Justin Harrill received the award on the boys side.
