Ruth Marie (Price) Shelton, age 95, was born on March 19, 1930, in Success, Missouri, to Frank and Amanda (Dutton) Price. She passed away on March 1, 2026, at her home in Success.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ray Price and Harold Price; and her husband, William Shelton.
She is survived by two children, Bonnie Jo Pittman of Success and Karla Mansfield of Houston; three grandchildren, Traci Hawkins of Alabama, Michael Easley and David Easley, both of Springfield; four great-grandchildren, Shelby Hawkins and Seth Hawkins of Alabama, and Cara Easley and Lillian Easley of Ohio.Â
Ruth was a lifelong member of Union Free Will Baptist Church. She was a pianist for years and served as treasurer from 1968 until the time of her passing.
She was employed for 30 years at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri as a civil service military pay supervisor.
She enjoyed quilting, embroidering and fishing. Later, she enjoyed puzzles and Sudoku. She was known for hosting church visitors with lunch.
Ruth will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Services for Ruth will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m., with a funeral beginning at 11. Memorial contributions may be made to TCMH Hospice of Care. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston. Online condolences may be left at www.evansfh.com.
