A motorcyclist was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a crash about four miles north of Roby on Route 17.

Tpr. Jason Sentman said a southbound 2022 Harley Davidson operated by a 61-year-old man from Lebanon hit a missing section of the roadway, causing it to travel off the right side of the road. The driver, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected.

The man, who was not identified, was flown by medical helicopter to Cox South in Springfield.

The motorcycle was totaled, he said.

The Roby Fire Department assisted.
