Fatal crash

A pedestrian was killed early Monday in Troop G after he was struck by an unknown vehicle.

Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said a 67-year-old man from Coweta, Oklahoma, was struck on U.S. 60 about nine miles west of Van Buren at about 1:50 a.m. The victim was outside a white Ford pulling a camper, stopped in the right turn lane to Highway J.

Troop G is seeking the public’s help in identifying the fleeing driver. The phone number is 417-469-3121.

Next of kin was notified. No name was released.

This is the third fatality this year in the nine-county area of Troop G compared to six at the same time in 2025.
