Houston, Cabool and Texas County saw increases in sales tax revenue collections in February, according to reports from the Missouri Department of Revenue.

HOUSTON

A one-cent sales tax earmarked for parks, police and fire generated $88,428 in February, up $12,555 from the same period a year ago. 

A one-cent general sales tax increased $19,145, totaling $96,234.

A quarter-cent sales taxes for transportation totaled $23,095. One for utility work totaled $22,107. 

A use tax applied to online and out-of-state purchases increased $1,463, totaling $15,856 for the month.

CABOOL

A one-cent general sales tax totaled $35,621, up $4,102 from the same period a year ago.

A half-cent sales tax for transportation needs was down up $2,051, totaling $17,811 in February. 

A half-cent sales tax earmarked for law enforcement totaled $17,702 for the month.

A use tax applied to online and out-of-state purchases increased $18,348, totaling $31,763.73.

TEXAS COUNTY

For Texas County, merchants collect three half-cent sales taxes. Each totaled roughly $132,040, up about $9,731 each from the same period a year ago.

The sales tax on online and out-of-state sales totaled $132,136, up $34,142.

Revenue from a three-eighths-cent sales tax earmarked for law enforcement totaled $87,842, which was up $7,280 for the month.
