There is still time for Houston property owners to get their name on the list for a free pink dogwood tree.

The Houston City Council last week announced it would distribute 350 of the trees as part of the celebration of the nation’s 250th birthday.

Persons can call Justin Jones at city utilities at 417-967-3348 and give their name, address, telephone number and email address. Trees are expected to be delivered to the city by a nursery on March 10.

Those enrolling will be notified when the trees are ready for pickup.
