Three agencies responded Sunday to a report of an out-of-control fire on Venable Drive.
The Roby Fire Department reported it was sparked by a burning brush pile.
Members of the Houston Rural Fire Department and U.S. Forest Service assisted. About four acres burned.
“We had to keep reestablishing lines a couple times because the fire was jumping. At the end, [we] were able to get a dozer in to put a good line on the north and south side,” Roby Fire Department said in a statement.
It was one of several calls in the region received Sunday amid dry conditions and brisk winds.
