Texas County commissioners held meetings to handle area matters on April 15 and 16.

Updates

  • Commissioners John Casey and Scott Long attended a Pierce Township meeting.
  • Sheriff Scott Lindsey presented bids for a key card system at the justice center. Central Security Alarms was awarded the job.
  • Lindsey also discussed the need for a grounding rod at the justice center as well as a utility bill.
  • Election costs for the April 7 municipal election were reviewed with the county clerk.
  • The maintenance department informed the commission that two of the townships picked up culverts from the justice center.
  • Correspondence concerning renewal of liability insurance and damage to Brightspeed cable on Buffalo Road was received.
  • Wilma Cook spoke to the commission about a road.
  • Shaun Patton, Cass Township, visited with the commission concerning hydrology studies for some of their crossings.
  • David Scantlin stopped by to update the commission on Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) projects as well as a township advisory meeting.
  • Commissioners visited with Mary Ellen Higashi, Lynch Township, concerning several issues.
