Deputy’s report: Investigation ongoing in alleged assault

• On April 12, a deputy was dispatched regarding a juvenile issue at a Long Hollow Drive residence at Plato.

The officer made contact with a 37-year-old woman there who said she had gotten into an argument with her 15-year-old son over chores and he had left. She told the officer the boy had recently returned from a treatment facility and was in the state’s custody.

The woman said he had gone to a friend’s house.

The deputy contacted the friend’s house and was told the two boys had left in the friend’s truck, but the vehicle was not located during a search of the area.

Just before 11 p.m. the same day, the woman advised that her son had returned home.

• At about 10:48 p.m. March 27, a deputy responded to Texas County Memorial Hospital regarding an alleged assault.

The officer made contact with a 29-year-old woman who said she had been assaulted by a neighbor man earlier that day at her Cass Lane residence at Plato.

The woman told the officer the man had come to her house and started yelling at her. She said that before the man came onto her porch, she warned him she would call law enforcement.

She said the man came onto the porch anyway and attacked her by grabbing her and throwing her to the ground.

The woman told the officer her wife heard the yelling, came outside and witnessed her being thrown down. The wife was reportedly able to de-escalate the situation and the man left.

The wife then took the victim to the hospital. The victim said she couldn’t recall the suspect’s name, but believed it began with an “s.”

The deputy attempted to locate the suspect on April 4, as he reportedly visits a family member at one of the trailers on Cass Lane, but nobody was contacted who could identify him.

Investigation is ongoing.
