A clown entertains in downtown Houston.

Grandstand entertainment for Emmett Kelly Day on April 25 in Houston has been announced.

The location is at Main Street and Grand Avenue, north of The Corner.

Here’s a guide to music and other programming:

9 a.m. — Kirk Pierce

Entertainer Kirk Pierce performs at a festival.

10 a.m. — Missouri Emmett Kelly Day presentations: Stasia Kelly, daughter of Emmett Kelly Sr., remembrance; City of Houston, recognizing the first Emmett Kelly Day in the state; Barbara White, recognition of her years of service to the Kelly Festival and Houston; and Jackie Newton (Sparkie the Clown) and Curt and Diana Patty (Handy Andy and Blossom), recognition for many years of participation.

10:30 a.m. — Kirk Pierce

11 a.m. — Parade with commentary from the grandstand

Noon — Performances by Emma Pitford, Miss Southern Missouri Teen, circus hoop routine; Emily Laskowski, Miss Texas County, clarinet playing “The Entertainer” and Peyton Taylor, Miss Texas County Teen, dance routine.

1 p.m. — Nationally known Windjammers play circus tunes. About 30 performers are expected. (below)

2 p.m. — Awards for chili cookoff and art.

2:15 p.m. — Lone Pine Band (pictured above)

A replica of a Kelly sculpture will be on display at the grandstand. The sculpture will be placed at Lone Star Plaza. Tax-deductible donations will be accepted there. Make checks to “Downtown Houston.”
