A Houston woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon about four miles north of Houston on U.S. 63, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Cpl. Travis Brown said a northbound 2020 Ford Focus operated by a 76-year-old Houston woman was stopped in traffic. A northbound 2021 Peterbilt truck operated by a 70-year-old Licking man failed to notice the stopped car, Brown said. The truck traveled into the southbound lane to avoid a crash, and the car turned into the side of the truck at 2:14 p.m., he said.

The woman, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Her car had extensive damage. The truck had minor damage.
