An inmate of the South Central Correctional Center at Licking died Friday at the prison, the Missouri Department of Corrections said.
Gary Beach, 83, died at 3:54 a.m., according to the prison.
He was serving a life sentence without parole for five counts of first-degree murder and five counts of armed criminal action out of Jackson County.
He was received in the Missouri Department of Corrections on April 19, 2002.
An autopsy will be conducted, the department said.
