Houston senior Gracyn McNiell was recently named a recipient of Academic All-State in basketball for the 2025-26 season.
McNiell, who also received the honor in volleyball, achieved the following thresholds for the award:
- Senior class.
- Athlete in good standing with their team.
- Outstanding moral character.
- Verified test of score of: ACT superscore of 27 or higher; or SAT composite score of 1920 or higher; or PSAT selection index of 185 or higher.
- Grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
On the court, McNiell led the Lady Tigers in scoring (17.1), rebounding (10.0) and steals (3.1) last season.
