Houston, Cabool and Texas County saw mixed results in sales tax revenue collections in March, according to reports from the Missouri Department of Revenue.

HOUSTON

A one-cent sales tax earmarked for parks, police and fire generated $71,391 in March, up $1,035 from the same period a year ago. 

A one-cent general sales tax decreased $1,194, totaling $77,703.

A quarter-cent sales taxes for transportation totaled $17,889. One for utility work totaled $17,871. 

A use tax applied to online and out-of-state purchases decreased $6,272, totaling $15,522 for the month.

CABOOL

A one-cent general sales tax totaled $31,584, up $9,321 from the same period a year ago.

A half-cent sales tax for transportation needs was up $4,661, totaling $15,792 in March. 

A half-cent sales tax earmarked for law enforcement totaled $15,706 for the month.

A use tax applied to online and out-of-state purchases decreased $3,977, totaling $11,036.

TEXAS COUNTY

For Texas County, merchants collect three half-cent sales taxes. Each totaled roughly $112,419, up about $3,163 each from the same period a year ago.

The sales tax on online and out-of-state sales totaled $111,138, down $40,767.

Revenue from a three-eighths-cent sales tax earmarked for law enforcement totaled $71,589, which was up $2,663 for the month.
