The Houston High School Scholar Bowl team finished 33rd out of 154 teams over the weekend at the National Academic Quiz Tournaments’ Small School National Championship Tournament near Chicago.
The Tigers went 7-3 to qualify for the playoffs before losing two matches. HHS also finished 33rd in 2025.
Individually, Keaton Hinkle finished 16th among 515 players. He is the team’s captain.
Hinkle was joined by teammates Ryan Haslett, Tyler Kelly, Thomas Kincaid, Chris Leighty and Gage Smith. The team was coached by Jason Pounds and assisted by Destiny York.
