Winning four matches in singles and sweeping all three doubles matches (two by tiebreakers), the Houston High School tennis team beat Liberty, 7-2, Tuesday in a South Central Association competition at Mountain View.

Match scores were as follows:

  • No. 1 singles: Senior Kaleb McGiboney won, 8-1.
  • No. 2 singles: Senior Jack Sandberg won, 8-2.
  • No. 3 singles: Senior Gavin Altman lost, 6-8.
  • No. 4 singles: Riley Wilson won, 8-5.
  • No 5 singles: Freshman Ty Bratt lost, 1-8.
  • No. 6 singles: Sophomore Ryan Haslett won, 8-4.
  • No. 1 doubles: McGiboney/Sandberg won, 8-1.
  • No. 2 doubles: Altman/Haslett won, 9-8 (7-4 tiebreaker).
  • No. 3 doubles Wilson/Bratt won, 9-8 (7-2 tiebreaker).

Victorious in three consecutive outings, the Tennis Tigers (3-3, 2-2 SCA) are scheduled to play in a nonconference match Thursday at West Plains.
