Texas County placed fifth in the state for the two-day spring turkey season for youth that ended Sunday.
Young hunters bagged 100 birds. The breakdown was: adult gobblers (80), juvenile gobblers (18) and bearded hens (2).
Other leaders in Missouri: Osage (121), Franklin (119), Gasconade (107) and Macon (102).
In 2025, the county finished third with 94 birds.
