Texas County is among those selected to be a first-time Blue Shield community, the Missouri Department of Public Safety announced.
The Texas County Sheriff’s Department was recognized, as were cities of Bland and Fredericktown and Ray County.
Those selected were chosen to bolster public safety, support law enforcement and build public safety partnerships.
There are now 228 jurisdictions in the second year of the program, which allows entities to apply for special funding.
