The Houston Ministerial Alliance’s annual celebration of Houston High School’s graduating seniors will be held April 29 inside Tiger Fieldhouse.

The third edition of the revamped Baccalaureate will begin at 6 p.m. and last about one hour. The event includes announcements of each senior individually with lights, smoke and music. Instead of a choir or band, there will be worship led by Faith Youth. Graduates will wear custom T-shirts provided by the Alliance that feature their class motto.

This year’s featured speaker is HHS graduate Allen Tyger, who since 2011 has led the college ministry at Northside Christian Church in Springfield. Tyger and his wife, Bre, are passionate about seeing college-age believers understand the joy and the cost of following Jesus in such a formative time of life.

School clubs and teams as well as family members, friends and churches are encouraged to make signs, bring noisemakers and join the celebration of this year’s seniors.

After the event, a reception will be held for seniors featuring hot dogs, chips and cookies.
