The Texas County Sheriff's Department was called to handle a variety of investigations.
  • Betty S. Capko, 47, of Plato, was issued a citation for driving while revoked on April 16.

At about 11:40 p.m., a deputy on patrol observed a blue Volkswagen Jetta sedan traveling on Route 17 near Route 32 with a headlight out. The driver, Capko, had a revoked license. She was taken to the Texas County Jail, fingerprinted and released.

  • At about 7:50 p.m. April 22, a deputy was dispatched to a Cherry Street apartment at Summersville regarding a report of a domestic incident.

Upon arrival, the officer made contact with a 24-year-old woman standing outside the apartment who said a 22-year-old man had locked her out and then allowed her to re-enter.

The deputy then spoke with the man, and he said he and the woman had gotten into a fight, and she had locked him out and then let him back in.

The officer confirmed that the pair are co-renters of the residence. The woman told the officer the landlord had said the man was going to be trespassed from the apartment.

The officer informed the two that neither party could be forced to leave and advised them of the 12-hour rule.

The woman said she didn’t trust the man and would be staying elsewhere for the night.
