The Cabool Fire Department responded Tuesday, May 19, to a structure fire on Highway U north of the community. Two other departments — Mountain Grove and Willow Springs — provided mutual aid.
The afternoon fire involved a single-story frame house.
It is believed that lightning in a morning storm sparked the blaze, firefighters said.
No one was home at the time. It was reported by a neighbor who spotted fire amid high wind conditions. The home was destroyed.
