Five Birch Tree residents — including three children — were injured in a Thursday accident near the Texas and Howell counties line, the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Tpr. Cyle Battreal said a southbound 2013 Infinity driven by a 27-year-old man began to skid on wet pavement, crossed the center of Highway HH, traveled off the left side of the road and overturned.
The driver and three children, ages 2, 6 and 7, had moderate injuries and were taken to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains. A 30-year-old passenger had serious injuries and also went to Ozarks Healthcare.
No one had a seat belt on, according to the patrol. The vehicle was totaled.
