A Houston man is charged with two felonies after it is alleged that he failed to register information as a sexual offender.

Nicholas M. Jones, 34, a resident of Highway B, was investigated in April by a Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy. Jones, according to a report, said he used his mother’s cellular telephone. She denied it, and gave an officer his cell phone number that was not on the state registry.

Charges were filed May 14. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.
