Lilly Kincaid’s dominant pitching performance helped the Houston softball team cruise to a road victory Friday.

Kincaid allowed just one hit in five strong innings and Izzy Cook drove home 3 runs as the Lady Tigers won 14-0 at Licking.

HHS (12-7) plays Monday (at Bourbon), Tuesday (home vs. Willow Springs) and Wednesday (home vs. Liberty) before Thursday’s district tournament in Potosi. The Lady Tigers are the top seed.

Kincaid earns complete game win

Houston’s ace was sharp against Licking, striking out 4 and walking 1 while allowing just 1 hit in five innings. Millie Carver’s second-inning single was Licking’s lone hit.

HHS offense stays hot

Cook, a sophomore left fielder, was 2-for-4 with a double and three runs knocked in. She was one of six Lady Tigers with multiple hits. Fellow sophomore Ava Koch had a team-best 3 hits.

Wild on the basepaths

Houston stole 11 bases with its aggressive baserunning. Koch had 3 steals. Gracyn McNiell, Natlie Clinton and Kincaid had 2 each.

Texas County sweep

With wins against Cabool, Plato and Licking, the Lady Tigers swept their games against county foes. They have won 6 of their last 8 games as the regular season winds down.
