Fatal crash

Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported two fatalities Monday in its nine-county region.

  • An 81-year-old man was killed at 3:05 p.m. when troopers said he ran into the path of a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 driven by a 17-year-old Norwood boy. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene on Route 76 east of Ava. Next of kin was notified.
  • A 41-year-old Centerville man was killed at about 9:38 a.m. when an 18-year-old driver lost control of his 2014 Ford Mustang on Route 21 near his hometown. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin was notified.

No names were released.

It brought the number of fatalities in Troop G to 12 — the same as this time last year.
