A Licking man with a history of fleeing from authorities in his car has been apprehended by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Robert J. Copenhaver, 38, was arrested last Sunday night by the patrol on felony warrants for non-support in Iron County and Reynolds County, and felony resisting arrest.
At about 11 p.m. Sept. 26, a Licking Police Department officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop of a silver Acura being driven by Copenhaver on Highway 32, but Copenhaver escaped in a high-speed pursuit. Licking police chief Scott Lindsey said Copenhaver had in the past avoided arrest by state troopers in a similar manner.
He was taken to the Texas County Jail.
