Dr. David Dake

Mark L. Dake, DDS, MSD, PC and the founder of Orthodontic Specialists of the Ozarks (OSO), has expanded the its Mountain Grove clinic as a new, full-service facility to treat patients for digital X-rays, placement of braces and other services for which patients may have previously traveled out of town.

It began seeing patients at 237 E. 17th St. on Wednesday, Aug. 8. It plans to host an open-house for the patients, their families, area dentists and the community in September.

The opening coincides with Dr. Dake’s selection by his peers as one of the top dentists in southwest Missouri and is featured in the August issue of 417 Magazine, for the second year in a row. According to a letter from 417 Magazine Publisher Gary Whitaker, the honor recognizes Dr. Dake for his work, which is showcased in the magazine for its reported 123,000 readers.

The 417 Magazine profile of Dr. Dake highlights his innovations in the area of orthodontics: “Established in 1986, Orthodontic Specialists of the Ozarks (OSO) is now a five-clinic practice serving patients in Missouri and north Arkansas. Dr. Dake also founded Smile for a Lifetime Foundation of the Ozarks, which sponsors the orthodontic care for 12 deserving youth each year.”

Dr. Dake received his doctorate of dental surgery degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, and earned his master of science in dentistry and orthodontic certification at the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and is affiliated with the American Association of Orthodontists and the Missouri Society of Orthodontists. Dr. Dake serves as chairman for the Council of Governmental Affairs for the American Association of Orthodontists, is a member of several professional organizations and is active in his church and community.

Along with Dr. Dake, Orthodontic Specialists of the Ozarks includes orthodontists Dr. Wade Murphy and Dr. David Sander. Office are in West Plains, Mountain Grove and Houston, as well as offices in Highland and Mountain Home, Ark.
