A Houston felon was arrested Saturday night on charges related to a high-speed chase last month in rural Montgomery County.
Brandy Roy DeWolfe, 34, was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Texas County.
DeWolfe was arrested on felony Montgomery County warrants of assault of a law enforcement officer, DWI and driving while revoked or suspended. He was also arrested on charges of felony resisting arrest by fleeing, creating a serious threat; and a probation and parole warrant for assault of a law enforcement officer.
In May, authorities said he led authorities from five law enforcement agencies on a chase that ended on a private gated driveway. DeWolfe, who has a lengthy criminal record, fled into the woods at sunset.
Bond was set at $50,000 cash.
DeWolfe’s address is listed as 9267 U.S. 63, Houston.
Authorities said DeWolfe was granted probation in February after being sentenced to four years in prison in November 2011 on a Laclede County case.
Authorities offered this explanation of the incident: A Wellsville officer stopped DeWolfe routinely. With the officer back in his vehicle and on a radio, DeWolfe took off in a 1989 Chevrolet pickup, and the chase began. DeWolfe sped through side streets and headed toward Montgomery City. At one point, DeWolfe’s vehicle nearly hit a Wellsville patrol car and forced it into a ditch, officers said.
The chase ended when the truck was stopped by the locked gate.
