Houston police are also investigating a case involving a vehicle theft that occurred at a repair shop on South U.S. 63.
McNiell said a 1996 GMC pickup owned by Colten Huff, of Houston, was swiped at about 6:15 a.m. Thursday from Jay’s Automotive. Although it’s a GMC, the truck has a Chevrolet emblem on its grill. It has a seven-inch lift and bears the license number 77A-5FX.
“It’s a very sharp-looking truck and has had extensive work done to it,” McNiell said.
The stolen pickup was believed to be last seen traveling northbound on Highway 17 in the vicinity of Faith Fellowship. McNiell said law enforcement agencies are following all available leads and receiving several tips.
“And that’s about all we can report on that right now,” he said.
