The Houston Middle School girls swept visiting Mountain Grove on Thursday night.
Jaydin Ramsey scored 13 points in the seventh grade’s 30-24 victory. The Lady Tigers (3-2) outscored Mountain Grove 8-2 in the final quarter to pull away.
Alexis Dixon added eight points. Abby Casper scored six.
“Good win for us after losing to them earlier,” Lady Tigers coach John Jordan said. “The kids didn’t lose their composure after losing the lead in the third quarter. They were able to switch defenses, and it caused them problems.”
The eighth grade improved to 5-1 with an easy 51-11 victory. Sarah Kelley led the way with 15 points and Krista Scott added 12.
Houston led 17-1 after the opening quarter and 33-5 at the half.
“We jumped on them early,” Jordan said. “Our fullcourt defense caused them problems, leading to easy baskets.”
