The Houston Garden Club announced winners for July in its monthly lawn contest.
Taking top honors was Varnel Noel, 1316 Briarwood. Other winners: Virginia Burkhead, 1000 Thomasville Road; and Sidney Ann Bridges, 1347 E. Crest Dr., third.
Taking business honors was Evans Funeral Home, 224 S. Grand Ave.
