He also had a deflected pass. …Nick Portincaso and Kaden Miller had two tackles for losses apiece against the Bears. …Miller had runs of 7, 10 and 1 yards to lead the Tigers’ rushing game. His first two runs were the team’s longest rushes of the night. …Houston was shutout for the third time this season. The Tigers also failed to score against Salem (45-0) in Week 1 and Ava (46-0) in Week 4. …Houston has averaged 4.3 points per game in its six conference losses.

ABOUT LIBERTY: Since losing their season opener 22-15 to Hogan Prep, the Eagles have rattled off seven straight victories. Liberty has defeated Thayer (46-6), Salem (41-15), Mountain Grove (41-8), East Prairie (41-7), Cabool (48-0), Ava (20-6) and Cuba (54-22). …Liberty earned a share of its first-ever SCA championship last season. A win Friday against Houston would secure the program’s second conference title. …The Eagles received votes in last week’s Class 2 state poll. They would have been ranked 11th if the poll extended past the top 10. …Daniel Porter had 15 carries for 194 yards and four touchdowns in Liberty’s district-opening victory against Cuba. The Eagles had 317 rushing yards and seven scores. …Since losing to Houston 35-13 in 2006 — the second of the Tigers’ consecutive state semifinal teams — Liberty has won four consecutive games. Beginning the next year, the Eagles have won 52-8 (2006), 26-13 (2007), 31-8 (2008) and 42-6 (2009).
