A local church will begin the first year of a new Awanas program Wednesday.
First Baptist Church of Houston will host classes for children ages 2 through the fifth grade beginning at 5:45 p.m. Awanas will meet every Wednesday night.
Awana — based on non-denominational curriculum — is derived from the first letters of “approved workmen are not ashamed” from 2 Timothy 2:15. Its mission is to “help churches and parents worldwide raise children and youth to know, love and serve Christ.”
