A Rolla assistant public defender who primarily handled cases in Texas County killed himself last week, according to Rolla police.
John Paige Williams, 28, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities do not know what prompted the apparent suicide.
Williams’ body was found at 10:39 a.m. last Tuesday inside his home. The death was initially called suspicious, prompting an investigation.
Williams worked at the Rolla office since March 2008.
