Summersville Fire Rescue was one of 28 departments to receive grant money last week through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The department received $5,000 to help purchase a fire truck. A total of $2,168,151 in federal grant and loan funding was announced by Sen. Claire McCaskill.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the agency is providing $63.8 million for 330 projects nationwide, with recipients raising an additional $45.9 million from other sources to complete the projects.
