Evelyn Alice Kellog Ware, 98, of Licking, died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 19, 1911, in the Salem area, daughter of Roy and Stella Clark. She and Clyde Charles Ware were married June 25, 1930.

She worked many years at Harve Brown Grocery Store and ran the Licking Livestock Sale Barn Caf/. She was a cook for 22 years at Intercounty Electric Cooperative until retiring.

She was a Christian and lifelong member of Licking United Methodist Church. She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star and was a Democrat. She enjoyed cooking, going to church, sharing political views and riding horses.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Clyde; an infant sister; and a daughter, Norma Jean Ware Ray.

Survivors include a granddaughter; a great granddaughter; two great-great granddaughters; and many friends.

Services were Saturday, July 25, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Maynard officiating. Burial was in Licking Cemetery.
